SUMMARY

The Lowe’s Business Analyst is responsible to identify, analyze, & communicate the marketplace and business insights needed to evaluate and improve business performance within the Lowe’s channel. This includes regular analysis of sales trends within multiple areas of the Lowe’s business and across all platforms, productivity of promotions (ROI) with go-forward recommendations, understanding industry & market insights, and providing analytical support to the corporate Lowe’s account team. The Lowe’s Business Analyst will support a wide range of channel requirements through the development and design of new/modified applications in compliance to Pella Standards while using a variety of technical tools & databases.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

This candidate takes the lead to develop and maintain data flows, data workflows and other code/logic to gather, create and deliver high quality reliable data to meet the needs of Pella’s business within the Lowe’s channel.

 

Use visual analytic techniques and methods (Oracle Systems, Power BI, Excel) to gather, consolidate, and share relevant insights and metrics to account team and channel partners. Identifies trends with internal reporting and/or external data and provides recommendations accordingly.

 

Works closely with the account team to develop new or modify existing analytical reports. Perform ad-hoc reporting, analysis, and in-depth analytics using a variety of information sources, tools, and analytical techniques.

 

Partner with IT & DAI teams to improve Pella’s data practices and reporting & analytics approaches driving automation and improved information access, BI tool selection, and other related enabling activities. Examples include but are not limited to data warehouse(s), Salesforce, transactional systems, external vendor-managed systems, and call center data.

 

Demonstrates the ability to read and understand existing programs requiring support and modification as well as capable of developing new applications.

 

Serve as a subject matter expert for OBIEE, demonstrating expertise in Oracle BI Server, Oracle BI Answers, Oracle BI Interactive Dashboard, Oracle BI Publisher, Oracle BI Delivers and OBIEE performance tuning of BI Applications.

 

Design, develop, and configure Dashboards, and BI reporting solution(s) as necessary for the Lowe’s channel. Documents process methodologies of development & answers questions as needed.

 

Maintains regular communication with internal and external partners, including but not limited to: Cross functional partners, Lowe’s counterparts, CRC counterparts, etc.

This job has no supervisory responsibilities however plays a significant role in cross-functional communication and coordination.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (B. A./B. S.) from four-year college or university; and three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

 

TECHNICAL SKILLS

Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, Cognos, Salesforce, PowerBI and Oracle (OBIEE)

Preferred skills:  MS Project, MS Office, MS Access, Data Warehouse/Cognos, General Accounting Principles, Crystal, effective presentation skills (creation and execution).

None required.

Requires travel 5-10% of the time.
